Amir congratulates Macron on re-election

Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani sent cables of congratulations to President of the French Republic H E Emmanuel Macron, on the occasion of his re-election.  

Deputy Amir HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani also sent a cable of congratulations to the French President on his re-election. 

Emmanuel Macron won the second term in France’s presidential election after his far-right opponent Marine Le Pen conceded her loss in Sunday’s runoff.

Centrist Macron won 57.6-58.2 percent of the vote compared with Le Pen on 41.8-42.8 percent, according to projections by polling firms for French television channels.

Le Pen conceded shortly after the announced projection. She noted that she improved her performance from five years ago and will now concentrate on legislative elections for her party.
