Chance to avail 50 pc discount on traffic fines if paid within next three months

DOHA: People can n avail a 50 per cent discount when paying traffic fines within the next three months, the General Directorate of Traffic has announced.

General Directorate of Director-General Brigadier Mohammed Abdullah Al Shahwani in a press conference urged people to benefit from this initiative. This is because from the beginning of next year, stricter legal procedures are set to be introduced with regard to traffic violations.

With the new procedures, hose who failed to pay the fines for violations would be referred to the follow-up cases and settlement section to amend the situation within two months. Following this, the violations would be referred to the Public Prosecution.
