QM, ConocoPhillips sign Founding Family pact

Doha: Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar has signed on multinational hydrocarbon exploration company, ConocoPhillips, as one of the ‘Founding Family’ members of Qatar’s first publicly funded national entity.

As a ‘Founding Family’ member, ConocoPhillips will sponsor the main visitor entrance lobby of Dadu, the first institution of its kind in Qatar to provide innovative child development settings and resources to support children, families and educators to thrive and contribute to a sustainable future. The soaring triple-height of the lobby space will reveal the true geometry of the building design, providing a light and welcoming experience for visitors to Dadu.

Qatar Museums Chairperson H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and ConocoPhillips Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ryan Lance witnessed the signing of the ‘Founding Family’ agreement between QM CEO, Ahmad Musa Al Namla, and ConocoPhillips Qatar official, Todd Creeger. To mark the agreement, Lance participated in a tree planting ceremony at Dadu Garden – a core element of Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar.

“We are delighted to welcome on board ConocoPhillips as one of the ‘Founding Family’ members of Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar. The generosity and support of our ‘Founding Family’ members, including ConocoPhillips, is particularly meaningful as we celebrate the Holy month of Ramadan – a time for contemplation and contributing to a greater good. Their generosity and our collective commitment to investing in future generations takes us closer to realising this incredible vision,” said H E Sheikha Al Mayassa.

With sustainability at its core, Dadu is dedicated to the continuous enrichment of the lives of children and their families.

“ConocoPhillips is excited to partner with Qatar Museums to support this unique institution that directly supports Qatar’s most prized resource – its youth. Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar, exemplifies the country’s commitment to its children and how it has nurtured a lasting culture of learning and exploration that will span present and future generations,” said Ryan Lance.

ConocoPhillips joins ‘Founding Family’ members Baladna, Exxon Mobil, the Ministry of Municipality, the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs, Ooredoo, Intesa Sanpaolo, Schlumberger, and Shell.
