Praveen Kumar had landed an exciting job and was at the height of his success. However, gradually he realized he had no work-life balance and soon it started affecting his health. While becoming fit was a long-awaited dream of his, he began his journey early this year. He was all enthusiastic about this new phase in his life when the second COVID-19 wave took a toll on him and he had to give up his training in between. His weight shot up to 90 kilos, which is when he decided to take action and joined the gym. Here’s his weight loss story:

My breakfast- 1 atta bread slice with peanut butter and 1 banana along with 1 cup of black coffee
My lunch:- 30 gms rice, 100 gms chicken breast baked, and 200 gms salad with 100 gms low fat curd.
My dinner: 10 soaked almond, 100 gms paneer, and vegetable salad
Pre-workout meal:- 1 slice bread and peanut butter and 3 egg white
Post-workout meal: 6 boiled white eggs and 35 gms protein
I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): Dark chocolate and jaggery with fennel seeds and boiled chole.

I indulged in an hour each of cardio and heavyweight training followed by another 30 minutes of cardio.

When it comes to weight loss, it is not just about how hard you work physically, but how determined you are mentally.
How do I stay motivated?: I buy small-sized clothes and work towards fitting into them all. Believe in yourself and eventually your hard work will pay off.
How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?: My trainer pushed my boundaries in my training and helped me identify my inner strength.
06/7 What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?
While I struggled with my excess weight, I wasn’t satisfied with the way I looked and how my overall personality did not give out a good impression.
What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?: Lean and thin with strength.
07/7 What are the lifestyle changes you made?
I started eating healthy and nutritious food. I discovered that apart from home-cooked meals, there are a lot of alternatives available in the market.
Lessons learned from weight loss: – It is not an easy task, and the only formula which works is calorie deficit. Nothing more nothing less.
